NEW YORK, NY – Guests of the newly opened Hotel 32 32 in midtown Manhattan can soon enjoy their stay in the affordable luxury boutique hotel knowing that their reservation contributed to changing the lives of people in Malawi, Uganda, and Tanzania. Hotel 32 32 is currently working on a donation program in cooperation with Innovation: Africa to support one of the many projects the non-profit organization is implementing in countries all over Africa. The idea is simple: For any direct reservation that is made through the hotel’s website, Hotel 32 32 automatically pledges a percentage of that reservation to Innovation: Africa. The partnership will likely start in December 2014 or January 2015 and give hotel guests a chance to do good while they are on vacation.

Founded in 2008, Innovation: Africa is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide the people in Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo with food, clean water, light and medical care. With offices in New York, Israel, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda, the organization brings Israeli technology and expertise to local communities with the aim to improve the living conditions of their members. The dedicated teams and the numerous volunteers have implemented 80 projects in six countries since the organization’s birth six years ago, issuing over 350,000 vaccines from their solar-powered refrigerators, and serving over 675,000 people by making a long-lasting positive impact on their lives.

Projects can be sponsored by individuals, communities, or companies. It costs just $10,000 to power a medical clinic like Nkondo Health Center III, which is located in the Buyende District of Uganda and serves 17,500 people. The clinic currently uses kerosene lanterns for medical care at night, including maternity services, and they lack refrigerators to store lifesaving medicines and vaccines. It costs $30,000 to power water pumping systems in villages like Ike-Ike in Uganda’s Kaliro District, where over 2,000 people have no clean water to drink. These are the types of projects that will be funded by guests of Hotel 32 32. 100% of guests’ donations will be spent on Innovation: Africa’s direct project costs, and information on the project they choose to fund will be available on the hotel’s website.
